and 50 second instructional DVD, a commentator, with the use of graphics, gives
a simple, but thorough overview of basic navigation. The presentation covers
the areas of the Magnetic Compass, the Nautical Chart, Variation and Deviation
(using the TVMDC correction formula) and the conditions of Set and Drift. Included
in the video is a demonstration of the Course Conversion Calculator.
This video is a valuable learning tool for any boater and is particularly useful
as a teaching aid for instructors who teach Coastal Navigation at any level,
whether it be in a Basic Boating Course which touches upon basic navigation,
or in any Advanced Navigation Course.
