Day 3

A cold foggy day in Ferryland..south of ST John's

We came here because their is a colony they unearthed a couple years ago called Avalon...this is it...it was founded by George Calvert in 1621 (same time as the Pilgrims founded Plimoth..) He lasted a year and left because it was too cold..he then went to Maryland and founded Baltimore..he than became Lord Baltimore..I say, what an ego trip and what a wimp!

Today, Linda and I are headed to Terra Nova National Park...we will be there till Sunday..then Linda  is taking a bus back and I am off to Bonavista (where John Cabot landed) to stay in Bruce Maclean's (aka Link Montana) cabin..he is from Orleans..I met a woman named Heather tonite in a pub here to get the key and directions..  She is his best friend here...I hope to bring a guitar with me to do some writing and look for icebergs...so until next week, pals, take care!
